May 5-7, 2006 - The Stowe Weekend of Hope, VT
The Stowe Weekend of Hope is where my healing journey first began, and this year I returned as a presenter for a therapeutic writing workshop. Each year the resort village of Stowe offers a weekend of seminars, workshops, breathtaking scenery, and a hearty dose of hope and healing to cancer survivors and their families. It's a startling statistic to realize that one in three people will be affected by cancer in some way, but for one weekend each of us who has been touched by this disease can find valuable information, therapeutic activities, camaraderie with other survivors, and recreational activities galore. The workshops are led by some of the nation's leading oncologists and hematologists on cancer treatments and research. The meadow at the Trapp Family Lodge is the site of the closing ceremonies where survivors hang their Flags of Hope. For more information visit: www.stowehope.com.
