The Day After Christmas

If you're like me, you heave a sigh of relief the day after Christmas! After a month of trips, church activities, shopping, cooking and entertaining, it's nice to have nothing on my to-do list today. We celebrated Christmas early with the kids and grands in Pennsylvania the first week of December. We called it Pombo Little Christmas. We also celebrated two of the grands' birthdays: Addie and Ellis. They turn five this month. All the early preparation was worth it when we were present to celebrate our grands' birthday, Christmas, and the Candlelight Tour in Marietta. Our son Jeremy and his wife Audrey had their house on the tour and we helped as greeters. It was lovely. And now as we watch how many folks are caught in the travel meltdown with thousands stuck in airports, we're thankful that we avoided that crisis and returned to a "freeze" in Florida -- the lowest temps in thirty years. Brr . . .

The new year will also bring some new published works. One of them is a story in Gary Chapman's newest book titled, Love is a Choice, which will be available on February 2, 2023 and another in an upcoming Chicken Soup book -- Advice That Changed My Life -- due out on March 14, 2023. Both stories have important messages in them and I'm excited to promote them. When I started writing over ten years ago, my subjects were my children and now it seems that my grandchildren say and do the most amazing things. I find myself writing down their "words of wisdom" and recording their hilarious moments. So, the circle of writing continues. It turns out that my website has some bugs that need to be fixed, so if you've tried to contact me through this website in the last couple of months you may not have received a response. I'm hoping that things will be corrected soon. In the meantime, watch for more information on upcoming stories and a giveaway contest starting in January. Wishing all my readers a belated Merry Christmas and the best new year ever! Until next time . . .
